We stayed at The Lodge not in the castle but on the estate. We have been before and it was as gorgeous as ever. It is remote and wildlife is just everywhere, red deer, buzzards, hares, rabbits, barn and tawny owls too many to list. It was a perfect place to spend Christmas, away from the world!

What a lovely place to spend some time. I enjoyed Cornwall the little time I had there and would love to return some day. A friend who lives currently in Newport, Wales might be moving to your area.
Cornwall is lovely but we do love the space that can be found in Scoland. It is a shame they are so far apart.
